This past weekend we created a modern wedding cake design for a modern Bergen County couple. Wanting to leave behind the traditional wedding cake, Richard and Elizabeth choose an idea that I completely love. The concept is called "cakescapes." Cakescapes use the idea of several cakes (typically an odd number) that reflect the theme of the wedding, but in different textures and designs. Here, there was one large, tiered cake with marbled fondant and a modern cage design that worked so well with the table lanterns, as well as two smaller cakes with complimentary designs. The colors and themes all worked together and the decor and florals by Cana's Miracle were stunning.
The sugar flowers we used are: David Austin Roses in a combination of ivory and blush, along with pale blush sweet peas and eucalyptus.
All of this delicious beauty was presented at The Rockleigh Country Club in Rockleigh, New Jersey. You can check out this beautiful New Jersey wedding venue here
