A very late post - I know! But I really wanted to wait until I received professional photographs of this cake before I shared it. So here you go!
2018 started out bold - with red and gold! Red wedding cakes can be tricky. If reds are too bright, they can look garish. If they're too dark (especially matte and dark), it can convey a gloomy look. My favorite way to work with a red wedding cake is to incorporate various shades of the color and then something else to "pop it." For this cake, we used gold as it complimented the couple's wedding theme.
This stunning and dramatic wedding cake was delivered to Nicotra's Ballroom (http://nicotrasballroom.com/) in Staten Island, New York. Nicotra's is situated among beautiful woodlands and is very easy access from all major roads in the New York City - New Jersey area. The ballroom is newly renovated and is gorgeous. As a wedding vendor who has a tendency to carry around big, heavy cakes, easy load in is important, and our load in to the ballroom was a breeze. Not to be missed is the ease of hotel accommodations with Hilton Garden Inn/Staten Island/New York right on the same premises, along with the Above Lounge. This is such a huge plus for out-of-town guests and bridal parties since the wedding venue is right there! Additionally, the venue and hotel are very close to the major New York City-New Jersey airports.
But on to this most stunning wedding cake! For me, there is nothing more romantic than a cascade of sugar flowers gracefully flowing down the front of a cake and this one did not disappoint.
